Nanonics has specialized in unique probes for scanned probe microscopy based on its expertise in glass pulling and cantilevering technology. One of the types of probes that have been developed are glass micropipettes which are tapered together with inserted metal wires and then cantilevered. These tips are coated with a metal such as gold in order to achieve a thermocouple structure. The cantilever height can be adjusted according to the requirements of the user from a few microns to tens of microns in order to allow for probing deep crevices such as those of microelectronic circuit structures. see more...
