EXCLUSIVE CANTILEVERED OPTICAL FIBER PROBES (NSOM PROBES)

Nanonics holds the exclusive right to produce aperture cantilevered optical fiber probes. Light can be transmitted to the aperture with the same efficiencies as those of conventional, straight near-field optical elements. As a result, near-field optics can benefit from the user-friendly normal-force feedback technique employed with much success in standard AFM systems.

KEY FEATURES:

  • Exposed cantilevered fiber probes for normal force AFM sensing mode
  • Compatibility with optical feedback and tuning fork feedback
  • High optical throughput efficiency
  • High optical resolution ( <50 nm)
  • Extended range of transmitted wavelength: UV-VIS-Near IR.
  • Multiprobe operation
  • Operation in liquid, HV-UHV, low temperature, high temperature

NSOM REFLECTION MODE

 NSOM REFLECTION MODE

Free optical access from above with no obscuration due to probe or scanner geometry enable true NSOM reflection measurements. The reflected signal is effectively collected from the top

NSOM TRANSMISSION MODE

Transmission Mode

Free optical axis from below enables NSOM measurements on transparent and half transparent samples.

 NSOM COLLECTION MODE

collectionmode

This NSOM mode is ideal for study of surface plasmons, photonics and plasmonic devices, evanescent fields with sub- diffractive resolution.

NSOM MULTIPROBE

multiprobe

This unique approach is employed in Nanonics Multiprobe systems to study photonics and plasmonic devices, 2D materials and other samples where near-field excitation with one NSOM probe and simultaneous detection with second probe is required.

In addition, this multiprobe setup enables combination of near field optical measurements with conductive, thermal magnetic and other SPM methods.top view

MID/FAR IR AND DEEP UV PROBES FOR PULSED LASERS

Lazer

These probes are cantilevered glass hollow nanopipettes with an opening at the cantilever bending. The laser pulses are coupled directly into a short cone and thus are not dispersed. These probes are useful for high peak power laser pulses, can be used in the IR and deep UV regions where regular fiber probes do not transmit, for example, 10 micron wavelengths or vacuum UV wavelengths below 180nm. These probes have a high threshold for damage making them especially useful for nanolithography using femtosecond laser pulses.
