With the Nanonics Chemical Delivery System, it is possible for the first time to deliver chemicals to the sample using an online source.
This is made possible by the Nanonics patented nanopipette tip which acts simultaneously as both an AFM tip and delivery system.

- The first nanosystem capable of both addition and removal of chemicals at the surface of a sample using a nanopipette
- Precise placement of chemicals to an accuracy of nanometers
- Online delivery of liquid or gas

Unlike other dip pen (DPN) nanochemistry or nano-lithography delivery systems, the Nanonics NanoPen™ can deliver both gas and liquids to the sample on line with no need to remove the tip from the sample.

Nanonics produces a microscope head, based on our MultiView 1000™ with a cantilevered nanopipette fountain pen attachment. Chemicals, in liquid or gas form, can be fed into the pipette via a silicon tube. One application for this setup is metallic nano-etching and nanolithography: an etchant can be introduced to the sample and scanned across it with nanometer precision using our 3D FlatScanning™ technology. The nanopipette is engaged by the sample using standard contact-mode atomic force microscopy, and our integrated system makes it possible to view the etching simultaneously through any optical microscope.
